Games

Hi Everyone,
Nice to see you all today! It was great to hear everyone's ideas.

Here is a list of the games that were mentioned. If you
need instructions, post a request here on the blog and
the instructor who mentioned the game will, I'm sure,
be happy to post them or bring them to the Christmas Party. Also, please feel free to add to the list!

Pictionary (review of vocab)
Jeopardy (review anything)
Apples to Apples (synonyms) (purchase at Drexoll Games at 4th and McDonald) (see Jeff's comments)
Card Game 99 (practice with numbers)
Tic Tac Toe (review anything)

The games store I mentioned is actually called Drexoll Games. Their original store is located in Kitsilano at 2860 West 4th Ave. I just discovered that they also have another store at 107B - 2748 Lougheed Hwy, Port Coquitlam in Westwood Center beside Westwood Street.

This is a great store with a lot of cool games that can be adapted for the ESL classroom, especially at the higher levels. Check out their web site at http://www.drexollgames.com.

The web site has extensive descriptions of the games they sell and more. Among the many items I have purchased there over the years are unusually sided dice. I especially like to use four-sided dice for small classroom games that myself or another teacher has created, where one doesn't necessarily want the players to move very fast.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for this info...I love games and will check out the store and website.

I've corrected the name of the store on the blog post.

I'll bring your CD to the Christmas Party.
